Yuan (Taylor) Xie

Alum

Taylor is a systems neuroscientist with experience studying human visual perception. She received a BS in Neuroscience from New York University. During her undergraduate research, she joined Prof. Tony Movshon’s lab to investigate speed discrimination in the parafoveal and the peripheral visual field of humans under the mentorship of Postdoctoral Associate Manu Raghavan. During her time in the El-Shamayleh lab (2023–2025), Taylor conducted visual neuroscience experiments, designed experimental paradigms using MWorks, and analyzed behavioral and neural data using Matlab. She joined the PhD program in Neurobiology & Behavior in August 2025, and pursued her first doctoral rotation in the lab.

Next position: PhD Student in the Neurobiology & Behavior program at Columbia University.
