Clarissa Pagoada

Clarissa is a high school student participating in the Zuckerman Institute’s BRAINYAC program. In the El-Shamayleh lab, she learned various molecular and virological research techniques that will advance new discoveries in visual neuroscience. She also shadowed ongoing behavioral and neurophysiological experiments. In the future, she hopes to conduct early intervention and neurodevelopmental research. She is especially interested in neurological disorders and how the senses are altered in neurological disorders, such as Autism. Clarissa joined the lab in July 2022 and again in July 2023.
 
Next position: finishing high school - and applying to Columbia University!
