Bargavi is a virologist and project manager. She received a PhD in Oncological Sciences working with Dr. Barbara Graves at the University of Utah and completed her postdoctoral training with Dr. Jesse Bloom at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She worked as a Science Officer at the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise. While in the El-Shamayleh lab (2019–2021), Bargavi led the design and production of AAV viral vectors to delineate neural circuits.
