Ahmad Pourmohammadi

Alum

Ahmad is a Physician-Scientist with expertise in studying translational and systems neuroscience. During his MD training, he delved into the mechanisms underlying visual working memory impairments in patients with Multiple Sclerosis. After graduation, he explored temporal attention and interval timing in human and non-human primates. While in the El-Shamayleh lab (2024-2026), he used a combination of electrophysiological and optogenetic approaches to investigate causal mechanisms of visual perception in primates.

Next position: Postdoctoral Fellow in the Neurology Department at Columbia University.
