Undergraduate Student
Mar is an undergraduate student at Columbia University. She is a first-generation college student and a Questbridge Scholar. Mar is on the premed track and plans to major in Neuroscience & Behavior. She serves as a class representative of the Charles Drew Pre-Health Society at Columbia. She is also the co-director of the Columbia Political Union’s Citizenship Tutoring initiative. She is also a certified beekeeper through the Alabama Beekeeper's Association. The El-Shamayleh lab is Mar’s first research opportunity. She is currently learning about visual neuroscience experiments, the production of viral vectors, and large vertebrate surgeries. Mar joined the lab in May 2022.
